A Quiet Meditation. A Break in the Cold.









Think of the most placid place
It is where will find yourself in a canoe
Your long paddle slips into the still water ahead
 



   Above I have chosen to take a step away from writing and instead allow for the stone to speak for it self. The initial shape recalls a feather with a white tip. It also reads as a human in a canoe paddling. There is a quiet serenity. Please take a moment to voyage back in time. Sublime.

 The GIANT Layer. brought to you by  Lithic Literature   I am starting with a little catchup session. I just completed producing a magazine style presentation introducing the fishhook layer. I was prompted by the knowledge of a study on that subject at my local university. I am happy to report that it was a wise suggestion. The fishhook story is incredible. I may have to return to the university with my little fishhook book and request a quick review and maybe garner some insight into what focus would better serve the activity in the archeology dept. I also have developed some beautiful images that support the use of the design by earlier civilizations to record and communicate their stories and contribute to the design. Images like Venus figurines and other identifiable subjects are derived from art history, enhanced and tweaked by early humans to represent particular cultures in these new images. The Venus in the Stones: An Archaeological Study into Lithic Literature.

I am working on recovering the design of the Venus of galgenberg. I found an image attributed to the Dorset culture that has her as well as a clay artifact from the Azores. She is all about  collecting honey   and    . She is also associated with the owl in that it also likes to be up in cavities of trees. You will find the tree hugging female collecting honey from a tree cavity and eggs from a nest. She is often trying to quiet down a squawking large raptor. She is the more dynamic version of the venus.   I am happy to be documenting in real time. sometimes I feel like I have to back track to bring everything up to par. Here I am happy to be able to only back track a few days. With that said if things go as they usually do, this will unroll a immense amount of material. Could the Neanderthal Painted Pebble be too good to be true? The European Painted Neanderthal Pebble Compared with the Maine Stone Anvil. https://www.facebook.com/share/r/17ix4pYNfF/  There is snow on the ground, the politics are consuming, but I have not been procrastinating, for I have spent the summer painting. I have been transcribing what I am deciphering on the surface of the stone on to canvas. The initial sketches already hum with activity. The sketches correspond with the stones above. The stone on the left is from the state of Maine. On the right, is the European stone.              I have centered both stones as I transcribe the design on to canvas. The design quickly pulls us in as the pareidolia triggers start working our brains.
